Spaces you share
A space can be for the apartment, or for a business you run with a partner. Everyone adds what they paid, and Chortkeh keeps the balance until someone settles up.
Expense tracker for iPhone and Android
Snap a receipt, say “lunch with Maya, 18.50,” or type “cab home 23.40.” Chortkeh fills in the rest and keeps a running total, so you know what’s left before you spend it.
Free to use. The AI features are in Pro, at $7 a month.
Where it goes
Adding an expense
Hold the camera over it. Each line comes back with its price and a category, even on a long grocery receipt. Emailed receipts work the same way once you forward them to your Chortkeh address.
You tap the microphone and talk: “lunch with Maya at Nonna’s, eighteen fifty.” By the time you finish the sentence, the form is filled in.
Write it like a note to yourself. Anything the app isn’t sure about gets a dashed outline, so you know where to look.
Pro All three use AI and come with Pro. Filling in the form yourself is free.
Type “coffee 3.80” and that’s it. Chortkeh works out the rest and flags anything it isn’t sure about.
What it reads
Totals hide what you bought. Chortkeh keeps every item, so months later you can ask what coffee beans cost you this year and get the exact number.
The beans go under Coffee and the dish soap under Other, even though you paid for them together.
A basket can mix tax rates. Each item keeps its own, and the totals match the paper.
A receipt in euros stays in euros. Your own currency sits under it, at that day’s rate.
Tap the store’s name to open it in Maps.
Assistant
“How much did I spend on coffee this month?” gets you the number, with a chart when one helps. Ask it to fix something and it shows you the change before making it.
Answers come from what you’ve logged, down to each item on a receipt.
Answers can be wrong, so every edit shows up as a card first. Nothing changes until you confirm it, and you can still undo it afterward.
Tell it your rent goes out on the 1st. You can see and delete everything it keeps.
Turn on web search to look up a product, or to find it cheaper near you.
Limits
You type “coffee to go” and a number. Chortkeh works out which of your categories and items that means, and keeps checking as new ones turn up. That matching is part of Pro.
$200 a month on eating out, or eight coffees.
A widget shows what’s left of a limit without opening the app.
Shared spaces and currencies
A space can be for the apartment, or for a business you run with a partner. Everyone adds what they paid, and Chortkeh keeps the balance until someone settles up.
Each expense keeps the amount printed on it, and every total is in your own currency, at the rate from the day you paid.
Insights
If your month starts on payday, every chart can start there too.
Chortkeh notices when the oat milk you buy costs 12% more than it did a month ago.
If nothing’s logged by evening, it asks whether today was a quiet one. One tap if it was.
Ask for “groceries by week since June” and it draws that chart from your data.
Each day’s spending on a calendar, and a bill that covers a whole month can be spread across its days.
Subscriptions and loans, with the next payment date and what’s left to pay.
Your month on the home screen. On iPhone you can add an expense from Control Center.
Expenses you add on the subway sync when you’re back online.
Bank statements are messy. Upload yours as a PDF or a spreadsheet anyway: expenses you already have are matched, so nothing counts twice.
Forward a digital receipt to your private Chortkeh address and it’s filed like a photo.
Everything downloads as one CSV file, whenever you like.
Your data
Chortkeh is paid for by Pro subscriptions and nothing else. There are no ads in the app.
Your expenses and receipt files live on servers in the European Union.
Nothing in the app reports what you do to another company, and your data isn’t used to train AI models.
You can export everything, or delete your account, from inside the app.
When you speak an expense, the words are kept as text. The recording is never stored.
And then
With the month written down and your limits set, there’s nothing left to carry around in your head. Have the coffee. Your home screen says how many are left.
Pricing
There’s no cap on how many expenses you add yourself.
$0 forever
$7 a month
or $70 a year
Prices are in US dollars, and the App Store and Google Play charge the equivalent in your currency. Receipts and the assistant share one AI credit that refills every month.
The name
چرتکه
Shopkeepers in Iran added up sales on an abacus for generations. They moved the wooden beads faster than most people could write the numbers down. The app icon is one, too.
Yes, for everything you add yourself, with no cap. Pro costs $7 a month or $70 a year and adds the AI features: reading receipts and bank statements, expenses from a sentence or your voice, the assistant, limits in your own words, and categories filled in for you.
No. Chortkeh never asks for a bank login. To get your bank’s numbers in, import a statement file (that part is Pro).
English, Turkish, Czech, and Arabic. Receipts in other languages are read too.
It keeps the amount as printed and shows yours under it, at that day’s rate.
Yes. Create a space and send the invite link. Each of you adds what you paid, and Chortkeh keeps the balance.
On servers in the European Union. When you use an AI feature, what it needs goes to the AI provider for that one task.
Receipt scanning and the assistant pause until the credit refills next month. Everything else keeps working.
